China intends to donate 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi informer DFA Sec. Teodoro Locsin Jr. of China’s intention to donate during their meeting Saturday afternoon in Taguig.
No additional detail was provided about the donation.
The Philippine government earlier announced that it secured 25 million doses of the vaccines manufactured by Chinese firm Sinovac, which last week filed an application for EUA in the country.
